MD SHRM raised money for the SHRM Foundation and the Asheville, NC SHRM Chapter during this year's annual conference (MDSHRM24)!

SHRM Foundation

During MDSHRM24, attendees had many opportunities to participate in fun activities that would in turn contribute to donations for the SHRM Foundation. Conference attendees could pay $5 to participate in a step challenge through the StepUp app (the attendee who took the most steps throughout the event won a prize) and purchase raffle tickets to be entered into drawings for baskets provided by our local chapters. MD SHRM was able to raise nearly $2500 and all proceeds went to the SHRM Foundation.

Hurricane Helene had a significant impact on the southeastern region of the United States. In efforts to provide support, MD SHRM raised money for the Asheville, NC SHRM Chapter by selling cookies for $5 each to conference attendees. MD SHRM was able to raise $1275 and all proceeds went to the chapter. The MD SHRM State Council is always happy to provide support however possible. Our thoughts are with those who have been impacted by Hurricane Helene.

MD SHRM Hosts Annual Conference!

MD SHRM's annual conference (MDSHRM24) took place in Cambridge, MD over the first weekend of October. With nearly 200 attendees and a number of dynamic speakers, the event was a huge success! This year's theme was "Energize HR: Ignite the Momentum" and the conference certainly lived up to it!

From informative breakout sessions to a competitive game night, MDSHRM24 was a conference for the books! Bryan Deptula kicked off the conference with a Pre-Conference Leadership Workshop, igniting the energy for the remainder of the event. Conference attendees had a variety of breakout sessions to choose from focusing on many topics including workplace culture, onboarding, learning and development, and more! Our keynote speakers - Julie Burch, Milton Hunt, and Greg Hawks - ended each day with explosive energy and wonderful takeaways.

Needless to say, MDSHRM24 was a hit! The council is looking forward to the MDSHRM25 in Ocean City, MD. Registration is now open!
